FAQs

FAQs

What liquid should I have with Hot Chocolate?

True's protein Hot Chocolate works well with just water. However, for a richer, creamier drink, we recommend using warm milk. Cow's milk, oat milk, almond milk or soy milk are all great options.

Can I use non-dairy milk with Hot Chocolate?

Absolutely! Non-dairy milk tastes great with the protein hot chocolate powder which is also dairy-free.

Is Hot Chocolate vegan?

No - the collagen used in Hot Chocolate is bovine and therefore not vegan or vegetarian.

Can Hot Chocolate replace my daily protein shake?

Though Hot Chocolate is rich in protein for its serving size, we do not recommend it as a replacement to a protein shake. This is because it does not include the complete amino acid profile that a protein shake does. Hot Chocolate can be consumed in conjunction with your daily protein shake to provide you with some serious macronutrient boosts, however it is important you follow the recommended daily intake. Like any supplement or treat, Hot Chocolate is best enjoyed as part of a balanced diet. If hot drinks aren't your thing, we have plenty of other high protein snacks available for you to enjoy in moderation.

Can I have Hot Chocolate in the same day as I have a protein shake?

Yes - the amount of protein in a serving of Hot Chocolate is fine to be consumed on the same day as a protein shake. However, if you are actively looking to boost your protein intake for the purpose of lean muscle gain, we recommend taking the two spread out across the day as the body cannot store protein. It is important you know how much protein your body needs so that you do not go over the recommended amount. Check out our blog to discover how much protein you need per day.

How much collagen does Hot Chocolate contain?

Hot Chocolate contains over 10g of grass-fed Australian collagen per serve, which is the general recommended active dose to begin seeing improvements in the condition of skin, hair and nails as well as muscle recovery. For more in depth information about how much collagen is best for you, speak to your health care practitioner.

What time of day is best to drink True Hot Chocolate?

True protein Hot Chocolate is great for any time of day, whether that be to warm you up in the morning or as a tasty treat to enjoy in the evening. As mentioned, if you are drinking this as well as a protein shake, we recommend consuming these at different times of the day for best results as the body cannot store protein.

Does True Hot Chocolate help with hair, skin and nails?

True Hot Chocolate contains collagen which is critical to healthy cell production and the reproduction of skin, hair and nail cells. Hot Chocolate provides the effective dose recommended to support your body in collagen synthesis.
