Why should I take a post-workout supplement?
Post-workout supplementation is used to refuel the body immediately following a workout to improve the recovery process, assist post-workout energy levels and particularly in strength training, to reduce the risk of muscle catabolism. For the best results, post-workout supplements should be consumed within 30 minutes post training. Supplementing in this period will help put your body in an anabolic (muscle building) state and avoid the risk of staying in a catabolic state.
There is no one-size fits all for post-workout supplementation, different training methods and styles require different supplementation. For example, individuals performing low-intensity high volume exercises (such as long distance running) will generally require higher amounts of high GI carbohydrates immediately post-workout to effectively replenish their glycogen stores. Alternatively, individuals performing high intensity strength training are likely to require a higher amount of protein in order to effectively assist their muscle repair and recovery. True Post is designed for individuals performing high intensity workouts that include both strength training and cardiovascular training. Subsequently, True Post includes a healthy amount of both protein and high GI carbohydrates.
What is the difference between True Post and whey protein?
Whey Protein is an ideal all-round post-workout supplement. A whey protein shake is designed to provide protein to the body and assist muscle recovery. Contrastingly, True Post is designed to fuel the body with protein, carbohydrates, and the complete profile of essential and non-essential amino acids. In addition to the 31g of high GI carbohydrates and amino acids, True Posts includes a full serving of New Zealand grass-fed whey protein. Whilst protein powders such as WPI90 and WPC80 are perfect all-round protein supplements, True Post is the ideal choice for elite athletes and those training at to reach this level.
How long after a workout should I be taking True Post?
For the best results, we advise True Post be consumed within 15-30 minutes post-workout. Consuming True Post within this period will ensure your body receives the nutrients it requires to prevent it from going into a catabolic state, whilst simultaneously kickstarting the recovery process and reducing DOMS (Delayed Onset Muscle Syndrome). If you miss the 30 minute post-workout window and don't plan on eating a well balanced, protein rich meal until later on, we would still advise taking True Post as it will still provide the body with the fuel it needs to stay in an anabolic state.
Can I mix True Post with other powders like creatine?
Other powders can be added to True Post. However, as True Post already provides a complete protein source, a full serving of high GI carbs, BCAA's, Glutamine, and Creatine it is unlikely that you will need to stack any other supplements into your True Post shake. True Post is specifically designed for convenience and performance, providing all the essential nutrients pre-stacked for your benefit. If you are to add other powders to your True Post shake, we advise you increase the water quantity accordingly to ensure the shake still tastes great.
How do I take True Post?
For optimal taste, add 2 large TP scoops (80g) of True Post to 300ml-400ml of water and shake thoroughly. Best consumed within 30 minutes after your workout.
Can True Post be used as a meal replacement?
Whilst True Post includes healthy quantities of protein and carbohydrates it is not recommended as a meal replacement. A balanced meal should provide protein and complex carbohydrates plus other nutrients like fibre, vitamins and minerals. If you're looking for a convenient and complete meal replacement option, check out True All-In-One.
Will True Post aid in weight loss?
True Post can assist weight loss, however it is not specifically designed too. Boasting 286 calories per serving, True Post is on the higher end of the caloric scale for post-workout shakes due to the inclusion of high GI carbohydrates. Subsequently, it is not an ideal post-workout shake for weight loss. If you're looking for a weight loss specific post-workout supplement check out ProDefine or WPI90.
Is True Post vegetarian?
True Post is suitable for vegetarians. Unlike many amino-acid stacked powders on the market True Post uses amino acids from vegetable sources, rather than animal products. As a result, True Post, like the majority of the products in the True Protein range, is suitable for vegetarians.
Can I use True Post while pregnant or breastfeeding?
We don't recommend using this product if you're pregnant or breastfeeding. It's best to check with your doctor before taking any supplements during this time.
Suggested Use
Add 80g (8 level tbsp) to 300ml-400ml of water. Consume within 30 minutes after your workout.
True POST contains a complete blend of the core ingredients you need in the post-workout window. It contains carbohydrates, protein and amino acids in optimal doses to support lean muscle growth. It is designed specifically for the post-workout window and is not recommended for use at any other time.
